Is a mesh pool fence sturdy, or can a child push it over?
Sturdier than the word "mesh" suggests, and this is where All-Safe stands apart. The mesh is stretched tight between rigid aluminum poles set into your deck about every three feet, each reinforced with a solid core and an internal dual I-beam, so it stays firm instead of flexing. A young child can't push it over or climb through it; only an adult can lift a section out. That engineered frame plus taut mesh is what makes it ASTM F2286 compliant.
What does "All-Safe certified" mean?
All-Safe is the largest and most established manufacturer of removable mesh pool safety fencing in the United States. An All-Safe certified installer has been trained directly by the manufacturer on proper measurement, drilling, hardware selection, and gate installation, and uses genuine All-Safe components. Does a pool fence replace adult supervision?
No, and any installer who tells you otherwise isn't being straight with you. A removable mesh pool fence is a critical layer of protection that keeps young children and pets away from the water, but it is never a substitute for close adult supervision. The safest backyards layer several safeguards together: a compliant fence, self-latching gates, active supervision, and swim lessons. We install the barrier, and we'll always remind you it works best alongside a watchful eye.

Are removable mesh pool fences as safe as permanent ones?
Yes. Installed to ASTM F2286, removable mesh is considered just as safe as permanent wrought iron or aluminum for keeping young children away from the water, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends it as a key layer of protection. It's sturdier than the name implies: rigid aluminum poles, each reinforced with a solid core and internal dual I-beam, anchor into the deck every few feet, so the barrier is as solid as a permanent fence, just removable. A permanent fence is no safer; it simply can't come down for a party or pool service.
Is pool fencing required by law in Texas?
Texas does not have a single statewide residential pool fence law, but state law adopts the International Residential Code as the municipal residential building code, and it requires a barrier at least 48 inches tall around a residential pool with self-closing and self-latching gates. That applies in the cities we serve, including Bastrop, Cedar Creek, Elgin, Del Valle, Smithville, Lockhart, Kyle, Buda and Austin, and each city can amend the code locally. Many HOAs and insurance providers impose additional requirements. ASTM F2286 compliant removable mesh fencing satisfies these requirements in nearly all jurisdictions across the greater Austin area.
What is ASTM F2286 and why does it matter?
ASTM F2286 is the national consumer safety standard for removable mesh fencing used to prevent unintended pool access by young children. It specifies minimum height, mesh aperture, post spacing, gate latch height, and load resistance requirements. Every Great Barrier Pool Fencing installation meets or exceeds ASTM F2286 specifications and uses All-Safe certified hardware.
How much does pool fence installation cost in Austin, TX?

Does your pool fencing come with a warranty?

The gate hardware carries its own separate lifetime manufacturer warranty. On top of those lifetime materials warranties, we back our own installation workmanship for one full year.
What's the difference between removable mesh, glass, and iron pool fencing?
Removable mesh is the top choice for families with young kids: climb resistant, transparent, and removable section by section when you're supervising, and it's stronger than the name suggests, held taut by rigid aluminum poles with a solid core and internal I-beam. Glass looks cleanest but costs far more, is permanent, and is hard to keep spotless. Wrought iron is handsome but climbable and hard to remove. For pure child safety value, ASTM F2286 mesh is the best option.
How long does pool fence installation take?

Can an adult take the fence down when needed?
Yes, but only deliberately, and only by an adult. Day to day the fence stays taut and firmly anchored in the deck, so a child can't pull it loose or climb through it. When you want it down for a party or pool service, an adult lifts each section out of its deck sleeves by hand and resets it just as securely afterward. The sleeves sit nearly flush with the deck when a section is out.
